2022 FTW Cyclocross Skills - Level 1

Monday, September 12 is make-up day in the event of severe weather cancellation.
Location: an unnamed MPLS City greenspace located E. Minnehaha Parkway and 35th Ave S (https://goo.gl/maps/YqQ1E7Rf95mwkz9z6). Park is S of Minnehaha Creek, E of S 34th Ave, N of the parkway. Street parking in neighborhood around 35th Ave S.*
*If you have done Triple C classes before, this is the location known as "the bowl."

Riders who identify as FTW (Femme, Transgender, Women)

For beginners or intermediate riders who want an extensive refresher

Ideally, you should have a cross bike or gravel bike. MTBs are welcome too. MTB or flat pedals (no road pedals) please!



Goals/Objectives

Cyclocross basics: dismount, carry, barriers, remount, corners, starts

Comfort/techniques for various surfaces: sand, off-cambers, steep ups/downs

Equipment: How to select tires/pressure, bike maintenance, shoes/spikes for CX

Think like a "crosser:" when to run vs. ride, line choice, when to draft-when to lead
Clinic Cost: $125

Full clinic is limited to 10 riders in order to provide each athlete with sufficient attention and support to encourage growth.

Instructor Corey Coogan Cisek has competed in cyclocross, mountain bike, gravel and road since 2007. She is a 2-time National Cyclocross Champion in the Master's Category. During the winter, she races cyclocross professionally in Belgium, including representing the U.S. in World Cup competition. She has 11 years experience coaching endurance sports, including cycling, Nordic skiing and running. Her passion is teaching bike skills and cyclocross.
