2024 FTWNB Road/Criterium Racing - Skills and Tactics

Presented by Triple C Coaching

Road is a demanding discipline that requires more than just fitness. Due to advantages gained by drafting, the fittest rider doesn't always win. Likewise a strong team and/or a savvy tactician can outperform their fitness. And maybe this resonates: a few poor tactical decisions and it's quite likely you will fall off the group!

I created this course because I personally struggled to learn to road race! I was too reliant on my fitness and was very slow to catch on to tactics. However, eventually, I was exposed to races that were "way over my head," UCI races and the North Star Grand Prix. Those experiences taught me energy management, how to read the race and strategically move up to avoid being dropped.

I want you to learn to "play the game," so that you can ride at or above your fitness. Getting dropped is no fun. Failing to earn results that match your fitness = also no fun! But staying with the group and bringing life to the race via attacks = tons of fun.

Not just a skills clinic, this class is a comprehensive introduction to the discipline.
